San Diego Padres’ Ha-Sung Kim was removed from the game after being hit in the left knee by a foul ball he hit. He was in so much pain that he was unable to walk on his own and had to be helped off the field.
Kim was scheduled to play third base and bat seventh in the lineup against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 26 (KST), but he was unable to complete the game and was removed in the second inning.
Kim had been on a hot streak, hitting in five consecutive games from the 18th against the Kansas City Royals until the previous day, when he hit his fifth home run of the season on the 25th against the Washington Nationals. 스포츠토토
The situation was this. Trailing 0-1 with two outs in the top of the second inning, Kim pulled hard on a 94-mph (about 151-kilometer) four-seam fastball from Washington starter Jake Irvin. The pitch struck Kim directly in the left knee. The pitch hit him in the knee and he fell to the ground.
He was in so much pain that he was unable to help himself and was eventually helped to the dugout by team staff. The nature and extent of his injury is not yet known, but it appears to be a major one, as he was unable to keep his left foot on the ground while being helped off the field.
